My name is Rosaleen Gallagher and I am known to most as Rose. I am a 22-year-old English Literature student in Liverpool, originally from Birmingham.

In September 2010, I launched Mixed Gems. Initially I was exploring my love for writing, but now my blog has become an integral part of my everyday routine and my favourite hobby. It has been read by the likes of Pixie Lott and attracts thousands of viewers every week.

As well as blogging, I love all areas of social media. In January 2012, my twitter feed was longlisted for the Marie Claire Best Beauty Twitter Feed Award.

During my spare time, I like to do lots of creative things. I was trained from scratch as a makeup artist at my favourite Liverpool salon, Peaches and Cream. Most recently I have joined Bethanie Lunn’s team as a writer for The Modern Girl’s Guide, one of my favourite blogs.
