Mixed Gems Beauty Challenge, Day 4 of 27
Today my makeup challenge was to replicate Kate Middleton’s beauty regime. Kate’s makeup is really simple and so this was very quick to do… her regime could be just the thing to freshen you up if you’re stuck for time.
Wanting to achieve a really fresh base, I steered away from my regular foundation. Instead, I used some MAC Face and Body Foundation on my face. I love using this for daytime coverage because it is slightly thicker than tinted moisturiser but not as thick as foundation. Being very thin in texture, I find it easier to apply with my fingers. After a coat of this I dusted my face with a blot powder and applied a pink blusher to the apples of my cheeks.
Eyebrows are key to Kate’s look; she always keeps hers very groomed. I used a brown eyeshadow and a slanted brush to fill in any gaps in my brows and make the shape fairly strong.
Now for the defining feature – Kate’s eyes. I used a liquid liner on my upper lash line and just lined the shape of my eye instead of adding my usual flicks in the corners. After this I took a kohl pencil and traced my lower lash line, keeping my water line clean. I finished my royal look with a coat of sheer pink lipgloss.
Kit list:
- Illamasqua eyeliner cake in Mislead
- MAC Face and Body Foundation
- MAC blusher in Pink Swoon
What do you think of this look? Have any of you created regal makeup looks of your own today? If so, post a link in my comment section or send me a tweet @RoseGallagherr.
I am going to take some inspiration from past Illamasqua campaigns for tomorrow’s ‘Kooky and Spooky’ theme. Stay tuned!
