Scratch Dollface for Nail Artist of the Year

You may remember the wonderful Scratch Dollface, my friend from London who makes the most amazing nail art concoctions you’ve ever seen. Well, Scratch Magazine has launched a new competition for nail artists called ‘Scratch Stars’ and we are hoping to land her the position of Nail Artist of the Year.

Of the 18 categories within the competition, Scratch has chosen to enter herself for Nail Artist of the Year because the criteria simply screams of her - ”clearly demonstrates magnificent and diverse nail art”. If you’ve had your nails done by her, or admired the photographs of her creations from my previous posts, then visit the Scratch Stars website and nominate her before the end of December.

All you have to do is submit 20-50 words on why Scratch deserves to win and fill out a few details about yourself; it will take all of five minutes. Here’s what I said in my nomination…

“Nail artist of the year HAS to go to Scratch Dollface because 2011 was the year that she transformed the claws of Liverpool into whimsical creations. With eclectic style, an insane imagination and an infectious cackle, she is as charming as she is talented. She thoroughly deserves it.”

Keep your eye on Mixed Gems this Christmas for more from Scratch – she’ll be back at Peaches and Cream for the festive season and I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the fabulous nail art that she comes up with. Want something similar yourself? Add her as a friend on Facebook by clicking here. She takes orders for personalised nails and can post stick-on sets to you, and her arty ways stretch to all sorts of wonderful things such as personalising shoes and trainers.
